Banjo legend Bela Fleck and kora master Toumani Diabate have one more show at Jazz Alley tonight, August 11, 2009, shows at 7:30 and 9:30. Don’t miss this show. I saw them last night, and their collaboration is amazing.

There’s also an interesting-sounding movie in town this week about Bela Fleck’s journey to Africa to explore the ethnomusical roots of the banjo. Throw Down Your Heart is playing at Northwest Film Forum through Thursday. Here’s the YouTube trailer for the movie.
