Issa Bagayogo, AKA “Techno Issa,” blends traditional Malian music with modern techno beats to create trance-ey, dance-able songs. He sings and plays kamele n’goni. I saw him a couple of years ago and really enjoyed his show. His albums are among the most listened-to on my iPod.
Issa Bagayogo plays tonight, Wed. August 5 at the Crocodile in Belltown, 2200 Second Ave. Tickets are $15. Doors at 8:00 – not sure when he’ll take the stage.
If you’re not familiar with him, “Dambalou,” the song in this video is typical of his work.
