Another week, another great Afrocentric debut…this time it is 10 piece Sol Afrique, an excellent project some of you I’m sure are familiar with…those that aren’t should take the time to come down and check em out.
Here’s a brief description:
Sol Afrique’s music is rooted in African beats and melodies. It is also Jazzy, Latin with distinctive touches of R & B, Funk and Brazilian moods. The band plays both original material and well known hits…
The group will feature:
Makini Magee (Vocals), Phyllis Talley (Vocals), Bob Antolin (Flute, Sax), Lennox Holness (Bass), Steve Rice (Piano, Keyboards), Yaw Amponsah (African Hand Drums, Percussion), Greg Campbell (Drums), Batholomew Komoah (African Shakers, Bells, Other Percussion), Guillaume Mpacko (Guitar, Vocals)…and dancer Lora Chiorah.
Again, things get going at 9pm, with 2 full sets of music, and its free! Happy hour food is also avail from 9-Midnight.
